Goldstein Hall advised LaMaMa on its commercial leasing agreement and tenancy issues, helping the arts group maximize its income and acquire new property for its programs.
Goldstein Hall helped NY LiveArts, a nationally recognized nonprofit, with a complex refinancing plan and tax abatement application. Under a tight deadline, Goldstein Hall attorneys structured the plan to enable NY Live Arts to meet its refinancing requirements and close a loan on an office and performing arts space in Chelsea.
Goldstein Hall assisted Open Space Alliance with its plan to hold a waterfront concert series in Brooklyn. Among the services Goldstein Hall provided were: negotiating the group’s use of state-owned land, drafting performance sponsorship agreements, and preparing the group’s application for tax-exempt status.
Goldstein Hall was instrumental in helping this neighborhood-based art and cultural group acquire city-owned properties and transform 4th Street on the Lower East Side into a vibrant theatre hub. With its expertise in not-for-profit legal representation, Goldstein Hall structured ownership entities and crafted agreements among numerous parties involved in the property acquisitions. It also helped the group comply with corporate governance requirements of New York State’s Revitalization Act.
Goldstein Hall helped RBSCC, one of Brooklyn’s largest nonprofit organizations, with a series of contracts for artists commissioned to design and paint neighborhood murals.
