SUMMARY:Joint Ventures that Work for Supportive Housing
DESCRIPTION:\nPlease join CSH, Goldstein Hall and our expert panelists on Wednesday, March 22 at 8:30am for an invite-only discussion on successful nonprofit and for-profit partnerships in developing supportive housing. In 2016, Governor Cuomo announced an initiative to combat homelessness and expand access to affordable housing in New York State. The initiative includes funding for 6,000 units of new supportive housing units over the next 5 years. New York State and City capital funding sources are working in close coordination with operating and services sources to accomplish this goal. To ensure quality services stay closely linked to permanent housing, funding sources require and prefer nonprofit ownership and applicants.\nPartnerships, therefore, often make sense. Established developers can offer nonprofit service providers with limited or no development experience the know-how in obtaining capital funding for developing the physical housing, and providers bring expertise in providing services and operating buildings to the partnership. Panelists will provide an overview of the available funding sources, real time examples and discuss the pros and cons of the following partnership structures:\n\n100% Non-profit Development\nTurn-key Development\nJoint Ventures with Majority Non-profit Control (51%)\n\n \n8:30-9:00 : Check-in/Breakfast and Networking\n9:00-10:00 : Panel Discusssion\n10:00-10:30 : Q&A\nRegister Here\n \n
